Dear colleagues,
After the challenging years of COVID-19, we are pleased to announce that the XXII Jornadas de Biologia de Leveduras Professor Nicolau van Uden will be held next 20th and 21st of September in Hotel Termas da Curia, Portugal. This venue will be an opportunity to share the latest advances in the field of Yeast biology as well as to network with Portuguese colleagues experts from diverse scientific areas, early-career scientists and students, while creating valuable networking opportunities, or to initiate collaborations in a friendly setting. The topics of the Programme include:
- Genomics and Evolution
- Yeast Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology
- Yeasts and Health
- Fermented Foods and Beverages
- Drug and stress resistance
- Yeast Adaptation, Cell Death and Aging
We are also inviting you to share your work by submitting abstracts for 10 min-selected oral communications and 5 min-flash presentations. Those of you who obtained your PhD degree between June 2021 and June 2024 are also invited to apply for the Prize, “the Young Researcher Award – Prof. Isabel Spencer Martins”.
The meeting will start on Friday, September 20th, 2024, during the morning and will end on the 21st September in the afternoon. Besides the oral presentations, the social programme includes Coffee breaks and lunches (covered by the registration fee) which will create opportunities of interaction between the attendees. The conference dinner will take place on the 20th of September.
The meeting will be entirely held at the Hotel Termas da Curia, 108 km away from Porto, 230 km from Lisbon and 28 km from Coimbra, a classical hot springs hotel in Portugal, surrounded by luxurious gardens.
